Sarah Jamie Lewis is the Executive Director of the Open Privacy Research Society, a non-profit research organization dedicated to building privacy preserving systems that further empower marginalized communities. Sarah’s work is focused on consent, metadata resistance and decentralization.
Sarah began her career as a government Computer Scientist, and has also worked as a security engineer for Amazon, and as an independent researcher publishing reports on the Dark Web deanonymization (via the OnionScan Project) and security of the IoT devices. Her book, Queer Privacy, documents how technology impacts marginalized and at-risk communities.
